After leaving North Berwick Harbour, the boat heads out to Craigleith Island, and slowly goes around the island so you can get close views of the nesting Puffins, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Razorbills, Cormorants and Shags. Our expert guides on board provide live commentary of what you can see and are a wealth of information about the different seabird species that you can see, feel free to ask any questions you have.
After Craigleith Island, the boat picks up speed to it's cruising speed of 20knots and whisks you over to the Bass Rock in under 10 minutes. As you approach the Bass Rock, the number of Gannets in the air quickly increases, and they frequently fly above the boat carrying nesting material back to their nests. Once we get to the Bass Rock, the true wonder of seeing 150,000 Gannets so close has to be seen to be appreciated. The boat slowly circumnavigates the Rock where you will see Gannets sitting on their nests, and also plunge diving into the waters around the Rock which is a sight not to be missed.
The boat then heads away from the Bass Rock, then stops to allow you to snap your very own picture postcard view of the Rock and appreciate just how many birds are sitting on the top of the Rock. The boat then picks up speed again and takes you back to North Berwick Harbour and gets you back ashore.
